Separar las personas del problema

Somos criaturas intensamente emotivas que tenemos con frecuencia   percepciones radicalmente diferentes y a las que nos cuesta trabajo comunicarnos en forma clara.   Antes de empezar a trabajar sobre el problema de fondo, debe identificarse y solucionarse separadamente el "problema de las personas". Los individuos deben verse a sí mismos como empeñados en un trabajo hombro a hombro, atacando el problema, y no atacándose mutuamente.    La separación de las personas y el problema le permite entenderse con el otro negociador como ser humano, en forma directa y con empatía, haciendo posible un acuerdo amistoso. Hay que entender que los negociadores son personas y no solamente los representantes abstractos de "la otra parte", sino con seres humanos.
